For dining room lighting, chandeliers make an excellent light source. There are a few rules to follow when placing a chandelier in your dining room. To start, the edges of the chandelier should to be at least four feet away from any wall. The chandelier should hang at least around 30-34 inches above the top of the table. The fixture should never be wider than your table, and, finally, the chandelier’s width should be about twelve inches narrower than the width of the table.
